In a fine diary posted earlier today on Donald Trump’s schlongingly, misogynistically, and scatologically mixing it up with Hillary Clinton after she baited him with twenty pounds of catnip-covered raw meat in the form of the ISIS recruiter remark, we find the following passage:
The “YUGE" misogynist will most likely increase and solidify his poll numbers, because this is the woman hating red meat his supporters embrace. They want women to be put in their place, just like Donald “I cherish women” turd blossom wants.
If something like this happened in the Democratic Party, you would best believe that candidate would pay the price, but this is the Republican Party we’re talking about here. The party of the constant full on attack on women's rights.
Indeed. These two things are why Hillary is taking him on mano a mano. She wants to face him in the general election, which means that she has to help him in the primaries — and this is the best way to do it short of actually sending him precinct captains. (Though it may well be that he might not need them as much as feared, as it looks like a goodly number of his Iowa supporters are already quite caucus-literate and are capable of educating the rest in that regard.)
As the latest Q-Poll numbers have shown yet again, Trump is by far the weakest foe for her to face in the general. His “I’ll never vote for the jerk” numbers are the highest of any candidate, so much so that the Republicans fear he’d kill Congressional and Senate races in addition to his own race.
Hillary knows how to play hatred jujitsu with the GOP base. By attacking Trump, she activates in GOP base voters the Hillary-Hate Gland that smothers all rational thought; anyone or anything that she attacks is automatically good in their eyes, and so they must run towards it. And they run toward it — and away from Ted Cruz — whilst doubling down on the sleazy sexism.
In this way, not only does she boost Trump enough with the GOP base to help him out, especially in the primary states where Cruz is surging, she reminds those Republican women voters who aren’t Stepfordized or Quiverfilled that their party is happily tossing them under the bus — again.
We’re already looking at a situation where movement Republicans like Joe Scarborough — who despises Trump, as is obvious whenever he’s had Trump on the show — are coming very close to actively rooting for Hillary in the general. (And where Hillary’s eleven-hour session in front of Trey Gowdy’s Benghazi Kangaroo Court ended with her emerging triumphant and winning many fence-sitters to her side.) A prolonged war with Trump — especially if he becomes the nominee — will only encourage this sort of thing.
Dear GOP Establishment: Consider this payback for 1972 and the “Canuck Letter”. It’s our turn to pick your nominee now.
